Calvin H. Christopher is one of the original organizers of the Ebony Tie Affair (ETA), formerly known as the Black Tie Dinner and has supported all subsequent ETA chairmen. Cal has over 30 years of in Human Resources, primarily in the financial services industry. With a strong interest in his community and youth development, Cal has served on the boards of the Walnut Street YMCA, People Settlement, the Layton Home and Beautiful Gate Outreach Center among others. He also has a strong interest in racial equity and social justice. Cal served 17 years as Chairperson of the Delaware Human Relations Commission, he helped form the Delaware Racial Justice Collaborative and currently is Chair of the Delaware Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

A life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, for several years, Cal has served on the Board and as Treasurer of the Achiever’s Program, a mentoring program that instills and promotes excellence in African American young men.
